Job Title: ECMO Specialist Lead Nurse

HCA TriStar is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ECMO Specialist Lead Nurse to join our team at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Job Summary:

The ECMO Specialist Lead Nurse will be responsible for supervising the operations related to ECMO therapy, collaborating with the CVICU and MSICU Manager, the ECMO Coordinator, ICC Physicians, and Cardiovascular Surgeons. This role will also involve educating and mentoring staff on ECMO therapy, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the operations related to ECMO therapy
  • Collaborate with the CVICU and MSICU Manager, the ECMO Coordinator, ICC Physicians, and Cardiovascular Surgeons
  • Develop and implement education programs for staff on ECMO therapy
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate and document required competencies related to mechanical circulatory support (MCS) for existing Specialists
  • Alter schedule as necessary to mentor staff on all shifts
  • Take an active role in staff development through rounding, case presentations, and participation in wet labs
Requirements:
  • RN licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • 3-5 years CVICU experience with expertise in mechanical cardiovascular support devices
  • Able to function in a preceptor role, i.e. is familiar with principles of adult learning
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
