About the Role

Merrick & Company is seeking a highly experienced Construction Inspector to join our team in the Denver, CO area. As a Construction Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our river restoration projects are completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide construction administration and observation services for river restoration projects
  • Work with project managers and engineers to ensure that construction work meets project requirements
  • Conduct daily observations of construction activities and prepare daily field reports
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and weekly progress meetings with contractors
  • Assist in responding to contractors' questions and issuing clarifications and sketches as needed
  • Review contractors' submittals, shop drawings, and field mock-ups
  • Review contractors' materials testing results
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure effective communication and project delivery
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil design and/or construction management
  • At least 2 years of experience in construction related to open channels/drainages, river, and/or creek restoration
  • Bachelor of Sciences degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • Strong understanding of project documents, including contract documents and technical specifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing among project team members
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
