Job Title: Certified Dental Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Dental Assistant to join our team at Lake Minnetonka Family Dentistry.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of dental procedures, be comfortable working with patients of all ages, and have excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for dental procedures by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and explaining treatment options.
  • Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments, suctioning saliva, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments, including handpieces, ultrasonic scalers, and other equipment.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and fluoride use.
  • Take and develop dental x-rays, including periapicals, bitewings, and panoramic views.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain patient records, including demographic information, medical history, and treatment plans.
  • Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, including suctioning, retraction, and irrigation.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a dental assistant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
