As a User Experience Researcher at Toyota North America, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of mobility. We're seeking a passionate and highly motivated individual to work with our design and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance lives and delight our customers.

This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence in York, MI, where you'll be part of a collaborative team driving change through user-centered design. Your expertise in User Experience Research will help us achieve our mobility targets by translating research into actionable insights.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of industry experience in User Experience Research, including 3 years of experience and demonstrated understanding of Toyota's vehicle development process. You'll need to demonstrate your passion for User Experience and ability to communicate complex data to executive stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include planning and executing UX programs, conducting research into NA customer needs and market trends, and communicating with stakeholders across R&D, Sales, and Quality. You'll also support business case development through timely research and manage project schedules, milestones, and reporting status to executive management.

About this Role:

  • Plan and execute UX programs to generate insights on cockpit and cabin electronics and interior systems
  • Conduct and lead research into NA customer needs and market trends, competitor benchmarking, and collaborating with customer research groups
  • Analyze data, generate findings, and report insights to drive alignment on UX requirements and customer needs
  • Establish UX research standards, communicate with stakeholders, and negotiate to drive direction
  • Support business case development through timely research and manage project schedules, milestones, and reporting status to executive management

Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of industry experience in User Experience Research, including 3 years of experience and demonstrated understanding of Toyota's vehicle development process
  • Demonstrated understanding of Toyota electronic platform development experience, including front-end UI development for in-vehicle displays
  • Understanding of current Toyota UX frameworks and UX research methods
  • Presentation skills to communicate detailed data as simple messages to TMNA executives and TMC
