Job Summary:

CMP is seeking a skilled Nursing Shift Supervisor to oversee patient care and nursing services during off-shifts and weekends. As a per diem administrative designee, you will manage all patient care departments, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage off-hours and weekend patient care and nursing services activities for an entire facility.
  • Ensure staff provides high-quality care and adheres to the Nurse Practice Act, TJC, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Coordinate and monitor staffing for all shifts, maintaining appropriate staffing levels and skill mix.
  • Participate in developing, reviewing, and updating departmental policies and procedures.
  • Identify and implement best practices to improve quality care and services.
  • Assess and monitor clinical nursing practice for optimal patient care.
  • Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum.
  • Follow-up on all clinical issues.
  • Monitor quality of care delivered, ensuring it meets age-related and developmental needs of patients.
  • Maintain and monitor established policies, procedures, standards, and practices for nursing services and patient care.
  • Supervise staff, assess their needs, and identify educational opportunities.
  • Collaborate with all departments throughout the medical center.
  • Act as a patient advocate.
  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and maintaining the budget.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Manage and resolve human resource, employee, and department safety, and risk management issues.
Requirements:
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Minimum four (4) years of acute care hospital experience required.
Education and Certifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support
Additional Requirements:
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, TJC, and other local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
