Role Summary

As an Emergency Veterinary Doctor Coordinator, you will thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. This role is ideal for those who enjoy a fast-paced setting and can adeptly manage the pressures of critical situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to designated veterinarians during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of departmental workflows for the veterinarians you support.
  • Assist in coordinating consults, transfers, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Delegate responsibilities among team members, including case management and scheduling.
  • Act as a liaison for referral partners when veterinarians are unavailable.
  • Facilitate client communication regarding cases, including care plans and inquiries.
  • Prepare medical documentation for veterinarians, including patient histories and treatment orders.
  • Monitor communications for the veterinarians you support.
  • Assist with outpatient procedures as directed by veterinarians.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms and escort clients as needed.
  • Provide mentorship and training to team members.
  • Coordinate prescription refills with team members.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in veterinary medicine is required; emergency experience is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in calculations related to medications and treatments.
  • Flexibility in work hours and willingness to work additional hours as needed.
  • Ability to perform efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
