Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer to lead our project teams in planning and designing safe, smooth, and efficient roadway systems for communities across the Midwest.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project activities through the life cycle of projects, ensuring successful delivery from the environmental stage through construction.
  • Prepare or oversee detailed engineering analyses, schedules, technical reports, and other project deliverables.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with project teams, including CAD designers, engineers, and subcontractors, to complete projects safely, on time, and with high quality.
  • Create and foster a project team culture of superior service for clients.
  • Assist in client contact and communications.
Project Scope

As a Transportation Engineer at Houston Engineering, Inc., you will work on a variety of projects, including:

  • Traffic planning and analysis
  • Roadway and railway design
  • Geometric layout and drainage analysis
  • Erosion control and environmental clearance coordination
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related Engineering degree
  • State Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with state DOT and county highway projects preferred
  • Experience operating AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Geopak preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
