Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Operate and utilize various kitchen appliances and utensils to prepare food for residents, including cooking meats, vegetables, soups, and baking desserts.
  • Food Service: Set up trays and/or tables and serve food and beverages to residents, ensuring controlled portions are served as instructed.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Clean food preparation and food service areas following completion of meals, including washing utensils, cleaning appliances, wiping counter tops, and mopping floors.
  • Inventory Management: Receive deliveries and store food, as well as can and freeze fresh produce to maintain a high level of quality and freshness.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess knowledge of cooking and measurements, safety practices and procedures, food preparation techniques, food storage methods, and sanitary practices. Demonstrate skills in the use or operation of cooking utensils and appliances.
  • Ability to: Carry out detailed but basic written or oral instructions, develop and maintain effective working relationships, utilize cleaning materials, and prepare food in large quantities.
