The RN House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing patient services during various shifts, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety for patients and staff alike.
Location: WellSpan Health
Schedule: PRN/Per Diem

Role Summary:
This role provides essential administrative support across multiple clinical nursing areas during evening or night shifts. The RN House Supervisor is tasked with making critical administrative decisions, implementing selective clinical interventions, managing staffing levels, and ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers nursing programs during designated shifts and coordinates departmental activities to foster teamwork and achieve objectives.
- Reviews reports from previous shifts and conducts thorough rounds of all units to assess patient conditions.
- Ensures the maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, and supplies to promote operational efficiency and safety.
- Adjusts duties based on the specific needs of assigned care units, adhering to established nursing education requirements.
- Maintains current certifications, including BLS, and additional certifications as required for specific nursing areas.
Expectations:
- Coordinates services within the department and collaborates with other departments to enhance patient care.
- Participates in budget development and demonstrates knowledge of patient growth and development across all age groups.
- Commits to safety by adhering to regulations, reporting errors, and participating in safety education programs.
- Recommends staffing levels, evaluates staff performance, and oversees training and continuing education.
- Continuously assesses departmental performance and maintains quality control standards.
- Engages in professional development through educational programs and workshops.
Physical and Working Environment:
- Frequent standing and walking, with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to occupational hazards and bloodborne pathogens.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience.
- Current Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support certification required.
- Completion of courses in nursing and personnel administration is necessary.
This position is integral to maintaining the high standards of care at WellSpan Health, and the RN House Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being of both patients and staff.
