Culinary Support Specialist
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Culinary Support Specialist is responsible for the cleaning, transportation, and storage of all dining ware, glassware, cutlery, and cooking equipment utilized in our food and beverage services. This role is integral to the organization, acting as a proactive partner dedicated to advancing the company's goals, vision, mission, and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the cleanliness of all dishwashing machines and assisting in the delivery of hot and cold meals for event functions.
- Setting up and dismantling banquet service stations.
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and properly storing all dining ware, glassware, cutlery, and cooking equipment, prioritizing cleanliness, sanitation, and recycling.
- Guaranteeing that restaurant and banquet kitchens are consistently supplied with the necessary equipment.
- Responsible for sanitizing and cleaning all kitchen floors, recycling bins, and waste disposal areas, maintaining cleanliness in the recycling/trash room at all times.
- Assisting in the removal of used linens and restocking clean linens.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
- A minimum of two years' experience in a luxury hotel or resort setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English is required.
- At least one year of experience in a customer service role is required.
Most tasks are performed indoors, with a controlled moderate temperature. The position requires walking and directing activities throughout the day; candidates must be able to stand and maintain a brisk pace for up to six hours. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly is essential. Candidates must be capable of walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, stretching, and performing cleaning tasks as needed. Finger dexterity is required for operating office equipment. While the temperature is generally moderate, candidates must be able to work in extreme conditions, such as freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F). The ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 200 lbs. occasionally is necessary. This role requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
