Job Summary:

Risus Talent Partners is seeking a skilled Purchasing Professional to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for ensuring that stock levels are maintained at the optimal level while meeting customer-specific agreements and requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management: Maintain existing item numbers and set up new items under assigned product lines.
  • Purchase Order Placement: Place purchase orders for products under assigned buy lines to meet demand based on price and lead time.
  • Sourcing: Source new products as well as existing items for best price and availability.
  • Forecasting: Establish product forecasts based on customer orders, history, and min/max levels.
  • Cost Management: Verify and maintain accuracy of average cost and raw cost in inventory and purchase orders.
  • Quote Preparation: Prepare quotes with best supplier options for all items under assigned buy lines.
  • Vendor Communication: Maintain vendor contact regarding availability of materials and delivery, and communicate changes to sales and customer service.
  • Expedited Shipping: Expedite product as due dates approach.
  • Price Negotiation: Manage price increases and decreases with vendors and sales as market conditions change.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Attend supplier meetings to assess supplier profiles and analyze offers in respective buy lines and learn of new opportunities.
  • Quality Control: Review supplies to ensure quality and resolve any issues with supplier, QA department, and sales.
  • Record Keeping: Keep updated and organized records of all communication and quotes.
  • Stock Monitoring: Monitor stock levels.
  • Negotiation Tactics: Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics with vendors.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience in purchasing or relevant role.
  • Negotiation Skills: Negotiating skills for price and terms.
  • Market Knowledge: Knowledge of market research, data, and best practices for purchasing.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Organized, detailed, and sense of urgency.
