Assistant Manager Job Description

Grifols, S.A is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our international team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in improving the future of healthcare and enhancing the lives of millions of people worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume leadership responsibilities for all aspects of the donor center when the Center Manager is not present.
  • Create a positive organizational environment and value systems that stimulate morale and productivity among employees and leadership.
  • Collaborate with Training and Quality staff to ensure training and quality goals are met.
  • Coach and lead employees through effective feedback and supervision.
  • Monitor and evaluate operations, working with the Center Manager to develop action plans to maximize center efficiency.
  • Supervise the implementation of improvements and make critical decisions regarding action plan modifications.
  • Oversee all personnel functions, including hiring, assignment, development, training, disciplinary actions, and termination.
  • Direct the training activities of production employees through the Training Coordinator.
  • Review and approve employee schedules to accommodate donor cycles.
  • Determine inventory levels of goods and supplies necessary for the operation of the donor center and compile orders to vendors.
  • Ensure center employees maintain the facility in a neat and clean condition and all equipment is kept in good working order.
  • Oversee plasma shipments and equipment failures, responding to freezer alarms and dealing with them appropriately.
  • Construct and submit timely and accurate reports on a daily/weekly/monthly or as required basis.
  • Develop and implement active donor recruitment advertising campaigns to improve production levels.
  • Maintain thorough familiarity and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved Standard Operating Procedures, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), and Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
  • Direct key personnel in donor selection, plasma collection, and all manufacturing records to maintain the highest production standards.
  • Control center donor funds and ensure all financial records are accurate and in order.
  • Keep Center Manager informed of any irregularities within the center and provide action plans to improve and correct center deficiencies.
  • Minimize center liability through constant risk management review and investigate all unsafe situations and complaints.
  • Direct and monitor the performance of outside vendors.
  • Review and monitor special projects for accuracy and timely completion.
  • Work with the Center Manager to implement the donor center's mission into the community.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Business, Nursing, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
