Head Cashier

The Cashier is a key member of the Westlake Ace Hardware team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

• Customer Service
  • Project a positive and welcoming image of Westlake Ace Hardware at all times.
  • Greet customers entering and throughout the store, addressing them by name when possible.
  • Provide assistance with store layout and product location, ensuring customers find what they need.
  • Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently, handling transactions with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Answer and respond to customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and courteous manner.
• Register Operations
  • Process cash and credit transactions, adhering to all cash handling procedures and policies.
  • Balance register drawers accurately and efficiently, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Participate in store and Cashier meetings, staying informed about company initiatives and promotions.
• Front End Appearance and Upkeep
  • Maintain a clean and organized front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors.
  • Assist with stocking and facing impulse counters, rotating fresh merchandise as seasons change.
  • Ensure forms and supplies are stocked at all times, and assist with decorating the front end according to company program.
  • Call for cart pickups when necessary, and inform management when merchandise returns need to be put away.
  Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Cashier experience preferred, with a strong background in customer service.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and responsibilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for long periods, and climb stairs as needed.
  Compensation

$13.00-$15.00 per hour
