X-ray Technologist Job DescriptionThe role of an X-ray Technologist at Patient First involves obtaining high-quality x-rays using the correct position and radiation exposure. This requires implementing safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure for patients, staff, and self. Additionally, the X-ray Technologist is responsible for creating and documenting x-ray CD copies according to Patient First guidelines, labeling images and sleeves correctly, and understanding the x-ray and processing equipment to ensure proper use. The position also involves filing and maintaining all x-ray paperwork, ensuring patient safety when using wheelchairs, stools, and other equipment, and adhering to established Patient First policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the automated medical records system, be able to clean the work area and perform maintenance assignments as directed, and be able to receive, move, and restock ordered supplies. The X-ray Technologist will also be responsible for addressing physician and nurse requests in a timely and respectful manner, completing tasks listed on checklists for the x-ray area and treatment area, and attending training classes and staff meetings as scheduled. The position requires a high school graduate or equivalent, keyboarding experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
