Job Overview

The Waterfront Restoration LLC is seeking a part-time Watercraft Evaluator to join our team. This position will be responsible for inspecting watercraft for invasive species in the Prior Lake Spring Lake Watershed District.

$18 - $22 per hour (dependent on experience)

Job Description

This is a great opportunity for students, teachers, and individuals aged 55+ who enjoy working outdoors and interacting with the public.

As a Watercraft Evaluator, you will:

  • Educate boaters on aquatic invasive species and their impact on Minnesota's waters;
  • Distribute educational materials at public water access sites;
  • Inspect inbound and outbound watercraft for invasive species;
  • Conduct verbal surveys to assess boaters' knowledge and awareness of AIS;
  • Document inspection activities and maintain accurate records;
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices for inspecting watercraft.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills;
  • Ability to multitask and work independently;
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions;
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays;
  • Physical ability to lift and walk/stand for extended periods.
