Purpose and Scope:

The Registered Nurse, Cardiac Telemetry Per Diem position is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a member of the VHC Health team, you will be expected to deliver exceptional care to patients with cardiac conditions, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and indirect total nursing care to assigned patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to assigned personnel, ensuring that patient care is delivered in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and goals.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • One year of experience in an acute care setting, with a focus on cardiac care.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia or a Compact State.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS or PALS certification preferred.
Working Conditions:

The Registered Nurse, Cardiac Telemetry Per Diem position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and long hours. The position also requires the ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for instances of exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious processes.
