Position Title: Housekeeper

General Overview:

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position is essential in ensuring that all areas of the facility are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform thorough cleaning of public spaces, offices, and restrooms, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
2. Sanitize patient rooms according to established protocols, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.
3. Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas, including parking lots and porches, ensuring they are free from debris.
4. Conduct minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and unclogging sinks, while reporting larger repair needs to the maintenance team.
5. Manage housekeeping supply inventory effectively.
6. Ensure security by locking doors at designated times.
7. Provide assistance and support to patients, families, and staff as needed.
8. Utilize available technology to enhance efficiency and communication in daily tasks.
9. Participate in staff meetings and complete all required training sessions.
10. Uphold confidentiality regarding patient information and share details only with authorized personnel.
11. Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Working Environment:

This role may involve exposure to infectious diseases and requires frequent physical activity, including lifting up to 25 lbs and operating cleaning equipment.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: A minimum of two years in a relevant field is preferred.

Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, along with a commitment to the hospice philosophy.

Physical Requirements: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and flexibility to work across multiple locations.
