Position Details

This role involves the repair and maintenance of various construction and mechanical equipment, including trucks, trailers, bulldozers, excavators, and other machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Diagnosing issues and performing effective repairs.
  • Dismantling equipment to access and replace faulty components using hand tools and hoists.
  • Conducting maintenance on heavy machinery and vehicles across the organization.
  • Performing routine services such as oil changes, fluid additions, and filter replacements while adhering to preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical and hydraulic systems, as well as diesel and gasoline engines.
  • Managing parts orders and maintaining accurate records of purchases and invoices.
  • Adjusting and repairing functional parts of machinery.
  • Testing equipment performance post-repair.
  • Welding and fabricating components as necessary.
  • Keeping the workspace clean and organized.
  • Participating in drug testing and physical assessments as required.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanic, particularly with heavy-duty construction equipment.
  • Ability to interpret safety guidelines and maintenance manuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Proficiency in using computers for job-related tasks.
