Job Summary:

The General Manager position at Vail Resorts is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of a restaurant. This role ensures that all company standards are upheld while providing an exceptional dining experience for resort guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee restaurant staff to ensure high-quality guest service and experience.
  • Manage location's financial performance through monitoring of financial reporting and participation in annual budget review process.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary AGM to ensure proper inventory counts, ordering, and menu design/redesign.
  • Complete operational audits to ensure location is operating to standards.
  • Manage employee time and labor, and schedule with considerations to business volume and labor budgets.
  • Coach and monitor FOH and BOH staff to uphold company and resort standards.
  • Follow all Environmental Health guidelines, Serve Safe best practices, and Vail Resorts safety standards.
  • Maintain consistent and meaningful communication with staff through meetings, emails, and 1 on 1 conversations.
Requirements:
  • 3 years previous food and beverage management experience.
  • Serve Safe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain within first 30 days of hire).
  • Tips certification, RBS certification, and Food Handler certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Intermediate computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite, POS software, Ordering software, payroll software.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Snow removal/snow blower training is a requirement.
  • Involvement with various internal departments and committees as deemed appropriate by management.
  • Flexibility to assist in other Mountain Dining operations if/when needed.
  • Ability to attend work in winter weather environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with others in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
