GENERAL OVERVIEW

Responsible for executing the standardized sanitation procedures in patient areas, administrative offices, departments, and other ancillary spaces, utilizing the correct cleaning protocols.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures timely sanitation of patient rooms and provides cleaning assistance to various departments; performs daily cleaning tasks in all areas including discharge cleaning, patient room sanitation, cycle cleaning, office sanitation, and all ancillary area cleaning to maintain the continuity and efficiency of patient care and daily operations. Cleaning of assigned building exteriors. Refilling of dispensers in all necessary areas and collection of all waste receptacles. (55%)
  • Completes assigned project work which may include, but is not limited to, wall washing, waste removal, biohazardous linen handling, and sharps container disposal. Assists with emergency cleaning situations within the facility. (10%)
  • Actively engages in and achieves Patient Satisfaction initiatives to meet departmental objectives. (10%)
  • Complies with all hospital safety standards regarding the use of chemicals, equipment, and machinery, and ensures proper marking of hazardous areas resulting from cleaning activities. (15%)
  • Adheres to the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the hospital as well as those of regulatory bodies. (10%)
  • Performs additional duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • FIT testing may be required, but will be provided upon hire as necessary.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic reading, writing, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to operate power equipment.
