Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Goldwater Care Gibson City is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. This role requires a strong understanding of nursing and medical practices, as well as the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants
Meet with nursing staff and support personnel to plan shift services, programs, and activities
Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning shift activities as required
Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as needed
Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift

Requirements:

Current unencumbered state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
Current CPR Certification
Experience in Long Term Care is preferred

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include being able to move intermittently throughout the workday, coping with mental and emotional stress, and meeting general health requirements set forth by the policies of Goldwater Care Gibson City.
