Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Type: PRN

Position Overview: Responsible for managing, delivering, and coordinating nursing services in accordance with facility guidelines. Assess residents' healthcare requirements and implement necessary actions. May operate under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

Supervisory Duties: None, but may oversee the activities of CNAs, PCAs, and/or RAs during shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administers prescribed medications and accurately records times and dosages in residents' medical records.
  • Monitors residents' conditions, documents changes, and takes appropriate measures.
  • Records and evaluates vital signs of residents.
  • Provides fundamental care or treatments to residents.
  • Assesses outcomes of nursing interventions and collaborates with the healthcare team.
  • Ensures resident safety by adhering to established protocols and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities: Performs other assigned tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in performing essential nursing functions is preferred.
  • Certification/License: Valid Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing is required. CPR certification must be obtained and maintained within 90 days of employment.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Involves various physical activities including standing, moving equipment, lifting, and carrying items. Requires operating a computer, completing documentation, and interacting with others.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Understanding of medical principles, relevant regulations, therapeutic methods, and effective communication skills.
  • Must exhibit professionalism, initiative, a positive demeanor, and empathy towards others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applications.

This position offers the chance to deliver compassionate care and support to residents in a memory care facility while collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team.
