Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Equipment Specialist to join our team at CABLESOUTH MEDIA III LLC. The ideal candidate will have experience with installing, troubleshooting, and repairing telecommunications equipment and fiber optic cable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and repair malfunctioning telecommunications equipment using various hand tools.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Drive crew trucks to and from work areas.
  • Removes and remakes connections to change circuit layouts.
  • Demonstrate equipment to customers and explain its use.
  • Analyze test readings and computer printouts to determine equipment repair needs.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of field experience.
  • Must pass a drug screening.
  • Have a current Driver's license and clean driving record.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to use a shovel and post hold digger.
  • Ability to work out in the elements (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
  • Ability to work at heights up to 50'.
  • Must be able to climb poles.
  • Sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds several times a day.
  • Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds.
  • Bending, stooping, climbing ladders and crawling.
  • Long hours involving overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to read effectively from a computer screen, sampling device and/or a paper copy.
  • Ability to work multiple tasks in a stressful environment while maintaining a positive and pleasant manner with others.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
