Job Title: Parts Specialist

At Equipment Depot, we are seeking a skilled Parts Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our inventory management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret catalogs, microfiche viewers, and computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
  • Determine replacement parts required based on inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
  • Receive and fill telephone orders for parts, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Fill customer orders from stock, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare parts counter tickets/slips and receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
  • Take inventory of stock, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
  • Examine returned parts for defects, exchanging defective parts or refunding money as necessary.
  • Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems.
  • Discuss the use and features of various parts, based on knowledge of machines or equipment.
  • Demonstrate parts and functionality to customers.
  • Place new merchandise on display, maintaining a visually appealing and organized stockroom.
  • Measure parts using precision measuring instruments to determine whether similar parts may be machined to the required sizes.
  • Prepare parts for internal transfer between branches and distribute internal shuttle shipment on incoming parts transfers.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One to two years of related experience
  • ERP experience preferred
