Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Classroom Teacher and the School Building Administrator.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safety Monitoring: Act as a mandated reporter to safeguard the well-being of students.
  2. Instructional Support: Adapt educational activities and materials under the guidance of the supervising teacher to align with classroom objectives and individual education plans (IEPs).
  3. Assessment Assistance: Administer tests and assist with homework and make-up assignments to support student learning.
  4. Personal Care: Provide assistance with personal care tasks, ensuring the safety and comfort of students during transitions and daily activities.
  5. Behavioral Monitoring: Collect and document data on student behavior and academic performance as directed by the certified teacher.
  6. Group Facilitation: Support students in individual or group settings, reinforcing learning concepts and promoting positive social interactions.
  7. Supervision: Oversee and engage with students during non-instructional times, fostering independence and safety.
  8. Professional Development: Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to special education and best practices.

Qualifications:

Education: A minimum of an Associate's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent college credit hours is required.

Skills: Candidates should demonstrate strong communication abilities, flexibility in adapting to various situations, and proficiency in basic computer applications.

Physical Requirements: The role may involve lifting and assisting students, necessitating physical stamina and dexterity.
