Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to Emergency Calls: Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assess Patient Condition: Assess the patient's condition and determine the best course of treatment.
  • Provide Medical Care: Provide first-aid treatment and/or advanced life support to patients as needed.
  • Communicate with Patients and Colleagues: Clearly explain procedures to patients, give orders, and relay information to others as needed.
  • Transport Patients: Transport patients safely in an ambulance to medical facilities.
  • Document Medical Care: Document medical care given to patients in a prompt and effective manner.
  • Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Inventory, replace, and clean supplies and equipment after use.
  • Maintain Ambulance and Station Locations: Maintain and clean crew quarters, ambulance, and station locations daily.
Requirements
  • Ability to Sit, Bend, and Stand for Extended Periods: Ability to sit, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to Lift Up to 50 lbs: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from ground to waist level.
  • Ability to Coordinate Activities Closely with Others: Ability to coordinate activities closely with others in stressful situations.
  • Ability to Effectively Communicate Verbal/Written English: Ability to effectively communicate verbal/written English.
  • Ability to Take Direction and Adapt to Changing Situations/Job Duties: Ability to take direction and adapt to changing situations/job duties.
  • 2 Years Experience in Emergency Medical Services: 2 years experience in Emergency Medical Services preferred.
