Petco Veterinary Care Specialist

About the RoleThis Veterinary Technician position requires delivering top-notch care to our hospital patients and exceeding customer service expectations.
You will be responsible for fostering a motivated technical team in the hospital, ensuring every patient receives quality care.
Main Responsibilities:- Deliver excellent client service, take vital signs, record medical history, and maintain electronic medical records.
- Support veterinarians with appointments, surgery, and emergency procedures, providing seamless care coordination.
- Restrain patients safely, process lab samples, handle medications, and update client/patient records.
- Schedule appointments, communicate effectively with clients, and manage accounts receivable.
- Prepare patients for surgery, monitor anesthesia, and provide post-operative care.
- Participate in staff training and knowledge dissemination, staying up-to-date on best practices.
- Maintain a clean and safe hospital environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Credentialled Veterinary Technician degree or equivalent, demonstrating expertise in animal care.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice, showcasing your skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration.
- A compassionate and empathetic attitude, prioritizing patient well-being.
- A team player willing to learn and adapt, embracing continuous improvement.
The majority of job duties are conducted in the hospital. This role requires physical stamina, standing for long periods, and direct contact with clients and their pets.
This position involves regular communication with clients, veterinary specialists, and product/service providers.
Compensation:We offer a competitive hourly rate of $27.50 - $40.25 per hour or salary range based on location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws.
