Position Overview:

Essential Qualifications:
  • Active RN License in Florida
  • BLS and ACLS Certifications
  • At least two (2) years of experience in an acute care environment
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of nursing and technical staff under the guidance of the Director.
  • Organize departmental functions by appropriately assigning responsibilities and directing workflow processes.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching, guidance, and training to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Assess departmental systems and processes, implementing necessary changes to enhance efficiency and monitor outcomes.
  • Ensure patient safety and quality of care during all procedures, adhering to established safety standards.
  • Maintain quality assurance protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of equipment, reporting any issues as needed.
  • Facilitate communication among administration, medical staff, and other departments to address needs and resolve concerns.
  • Set goals for quality improvement, fiscal productivity, and patient satisfaction in collaboration with upper management.
  • If working with telemetry patients, demonstrate proficiency in EKG interpretation, advanced assessment, and medication administration.
  • Conduct daily rounds with nursing leaders and physicians as required.
  • Assign tasks based on patient acuity and the skill level of nursing staff.
  • Act as a clinical resource for staff to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Provide direct patient care as necessary.
  • Exhibit the ability to perform as a department director in their absence.
  • Demonstrate capability to serve as a house supervisor when needed.
  • Available shifts include day and night options, with a schedule of 3x12 hours.
