Job Title: Registered Nurse - Surgical Services

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at WellSpan Health. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses and adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, preparing patients for surgery and ensuring they are adequately informed and prepared.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, addressing concerns and answering questions throughout the surgical process.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices and policies.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Pennsylvania, with certification in a relevant specialty area (e.g., CNOR, CCRN) preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a surgical or perioperative setting, with a strong understanding of surgical procedures and patient care protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
