Pharmacist - PRN

Cardinal Health is seeking a PRN Pharmacist to join our team at PAM Specialty Hospital of Sarasota. As a PRN Pharmacist, you will work as needed during facility hours and be on call to provide expert care to our patients.

• Verify physician orders for medications using the pharmacy information system, applying expert knowledge of drugs and related protocols.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliant and efficient operations of the pharmacy, checking all work in line with State Boards of Pharmacy regulations.
• Adjust dosages based on established protocols for each drug, ensuring appropriateness for the patient's condition and other medications being used.
• Educate patients on the proper use and expected effects of medications, especially when using multiple medications or beginning new regimens.
• Manage narcotics and inventory control, including regular documentation and completion of checklists.
• Contact Nurses and Physicians as necessary to verify orders and obtain additional information.
• Assist the Pharmacy Director in maintaining the pharmacy's accreditation and implementing operational changes.

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
• Must be a 'good standing' licensed Pharmacist in the state of Florida.
• Prior inpatient/hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to hear, write, and speak clearly to communicate with customers and healthcare professionals.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Computer savvy to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and be on call.

• Competitive hourly rate: $49.40 - $70.60 per hour.
