Job Description

Job Title: Bilingual Tax Preparer (Spanish/English)

Job Summary:

This position serves as a member of the tax team at Jobs for Humanity. The ideal candidate is able to advise clients on their taxes, and will be responsible for preparation of personal, non-profit, partnership, and corporate tax returns. Candidates will also have the responsibility to review financial statements.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare corporate and/or individual client returns, adhering to quality standards of the firm
  • Review financial statements for corporate returns
  • Maintain communications with clients to develop longstanding business relationships, manage expectations, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Prepare individual and corporate tax returns, review necessary paperwork for tax returns, and arrange for tax payments
  • Organize tax planning and calculate estimated payments
  • Recommend tax strategies that align with personal and business goals
  • Identify tax savings and recommend strategies to increase profit
  • Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxes
  • Participate in various job duties/responsibilities as directed by tax manager and director

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, Mathematics or related field
  • Minimum 2 years tax preparation or accounting experience or 1 year full-time in public accounting firm
  • English proficiency required; second language (multilingual) proficiency preferred
  • Experience with accounting software such as Accounting CS, QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Financial Edge
  • Experience with tax preparation software such as UltraTax CS, preferred
  • Proficient with IT and Microsoft Office Suites
  • Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States
