Aureus Medical Group is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team on a travel assignment. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting in the diagnosis of diseases and injuries by performing diagnostic general radiological procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform radiographic procedures by acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accrediting bodies and manufacturer guidelines.
- Review cases with radiologists when necessary.
- Review patient labs and history to ensure correct exam procedures.
- Administer IV contrast and oral/rectal contrast when required.
- Recognize and respond to adverse reactions or allergic reactions.
- Screen patients for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if necessary.
- Review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy.
- Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
- Transfer and verify image data in PACS and provide necessary medical history and information for radiologist interpretation.
- Utilize web servers and email systems to send exams for preliminary readings after hours.
- Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventories and work area cleanliness.
- Recognize malfunctions and service needs and report them in a timely manner.
- Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety.
- Report safety events immediately, including near misses.
- Assist in instruction of students and new staff as necessary.
- May perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
- Meet productivity levels as established by department benchmarking.
- Assist other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity.
- May be required to perform duties of other modalities within the department to which licensures are held by the technologist/sonographer.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- State License-Radiology Technologist-Illinois.
- Ability to lift 50-100lbs.
