Fitness Coach

Position Overview

At 10 Fitness, Fitness Coaches are responsible for delivering an exceptional member experience while conducting personalized training sessions with clients, whether in individual or group settings. Our Fitness Coaches are dedicated professionals who exhibit patience and resilience. They should embody honesty, enthusiasm for assisting others, and a strong commitment to making a positive impact. All team members play a vital role in maintaining a clean, welcoming, and well-organized facility, adhering to company policies, and ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and engaging atmosphere in a professional manner.

Member Engagement:

  • Showcase the correct and safe usage of strength training and cardiovascular equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with member guidelines while in the facility.
  • Assist management in conducting 30-minute fitness assessments for new members.
  • Complete fitness goal assessments and health questionnaires prior to training new clients.
  • Provide management with a recommended training program after client sessions.
  • Support clients in achieving their fitness goals by coaching and motivating them during training sessions.
  • Encourage and schedule clients to engage in Level 10 programs.
  • Develop individualized training plans for clients unable to participate in Level 10.
  • Address clients' nutritional needs to promote their success.
  • Create client progress reports with precise measurements and fitness evaluations (conducted every four to six weeks).
  • Establish and maintain a positive and professional rapport with members and clients.
  • Assist non-training clients with their workouts and foster relationships by engaging with them during non-training hours and offering fitness assessments.
  • Support front desk operations by checking in members, selling retail items, setting up massage chairs and tanning beds, and answering phone inquiries.
  • Maintain a respectful and professional demeanor with all company personnel.

Facility Cleanliness and Safety:

  • Ensure the training area is tidy and well-organized during shifts.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections during assigned shifts; report any concerns to management.
  • Reorganize equipment and weights and clean as necessary.

Training Expectations:

  • By the 90-day mark of employment, 50% of a coach's time should be dedicated to training clients or prospects.
  • All personal training clients should participate in at least one Level 10 session weekly.
  • Client weigh-ins and measurements should be recorded every 4 to 6 weeks.
  • 30% of fitness assessment prospects should convert to personal training clients.
  • 100% of non-training time should focus on relationship building to expand clientele, creating programs for clients unable to join Level 10, assisting front desk operations, cleaning, and organizing weights.
  • Coaches should arrive on time and be prepared for all training sessions 100% of the time.
  • Coaches should learn and embody all core values of 10 Fitness by the 90-day mark of employment.

Required Certifications and Experience:

  • Approved personal training certification from 10 Fitness is mandatory.
  • CPR/AED certification is required.
  • Coursework in physical education, nutrition, physiology, and exercise science is preferred.
  • Certification in MX4-Level 10 is advantageous.

Educational Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A college degree in Kinesiology or a related field is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • This role frequently requires the employee to stand for extended periods, walk, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively.
  • Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Employees may regularly encounter moving mechanical parts while performing job duties.
  • Employees may be exposed to elevated noise levels in this environment.

Compensation Structure:

Fitness Coaches receive compensation per training session in addition to hourly wages. Starting pay rates are determined based on personal training experience and relevant educational background. Below are the pay ranges for time spent actively training clients (training pay) and time spent not training clients.

  • Client training pay range: $17.50-$34.00 /hour
  • Non-training pay range: $12.50-$18.00 /hour
