This role encompasses the comprehensive management of material handling and the loading/unloading of trailers at Catania Spagna.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
The position oversees and directs the following activities:
1. Production: Managing the flow of raw materials to and from production lines, de-palletizing, and scanning products from production.
2. Warehouse/Shipping: Responsible for the loading and unloading of trailers, stock rotation, warehouse movements, and general material handling.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
1. Maintain a reliable and consistent attendance record.
2. Safely operate a forklift within a food-grade manufacturing environment, adhering to SOPs, GMPs, and company property standards:
a. Certified forklift operator.
b. Conduct morning inspections of the forklift and submit daily inspection reports.
c. Perform daily battery maintenance and watering.
d. Clean forklifts on a weekly basis.
e. Accurately pick, stage, and load orders as per E21 instructions.
f. Actively pursue and contribute to achieving the warehouse goal of 600 pallets shipped daily across both warehouses.
g. Organize production schedules to facilitate effective product placement in the warehouse.
h. Utilize RF scanners to move products within the warehouse to create necessary space.
i. Follow FIFO stock rotation principles during order picking and warehouse movements.
j. Supply production lines with raw materials as per work orders and requests from production staff.
k. Unload incoming trucks of raw materials and verify quantities with the shipper.
l. De-palletize production lines promptly and accurately using handheld RF scanners.
m. Minimize downtime on designated production lines to meet OEE goals by making timely pickups and maintaining acceptable levels of overall OEE downtime.
n. Assist other warehouse personnel in completing their tasks when finished with own responsibilities.
3. Handle and stack products weighing up to 50 pounds.
4. Conduct product rework as necessary.
5. Process and sign for incoming paperwork and outbound orders in E21 as required.
6. Participate in mandatory physical inventory as needed.
7. Verify and process transfer-trailer paperwork when necessary.
8. Be available for occasional overtime or weekend work as required.
9. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Fluency in English.
Forklift and Pallet Jack certification.
At least 1 year of experience in warehousing or logistics.
Experience with ERP systems and RF scanners is advantageous.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift or stack cases weighing up to 50 pounds.
Capability to sit for extended periods.
Experience operating Forklifts, Pallet Jacks, Electric Pallet Jacks, Manual Hand Jacks, and RF Scanners.
Familiarity with computers, label software, and label printers.
Work in a fast-paced, driven, and team-oriented environment focused on efficiency, productivity, and collaboration.
