Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Specialist to join our team at the Defense Health Agency Civilian Corps, Falls Church, VA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support services in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in initial intake assessments and triage interviews for psychiatric patients.
  • Deliver a variety of treatment modalities, including biofeedback, stress management, and group therapy.
  • Coordinate and perform routine training in Professional Assault Crisis Training.
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with psychiatric patients and observe patient progress during treatment.
  • Perform ongoing risk assessment and maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be a US Citizen and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Fully trained per requirements of the Department of the Navy or equivalent DoD service school for Psychiatric Technicians and possess at least a level One National Certification as a Psychiatric Technician.
  • Possess current state licensure as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
  • Possess current state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Preferred Qualifications

One year of specialized experience in performing intake for behavioral health patients, educating and/or counseling behavioral health patients, and maintaining patient records. Must be currently certified in Basic-Life-Support (BLS).
