We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at the University of New Mexico. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our anesthesia department.
Key Responsibilities- Procure, assemble, and maintain anesthesia equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Stock anesthesia carts with supplies and ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Assist anesthesia providers with patient care, including invasive monitoring line placement and medication administration.
- Participate in patient safety initiatives and report any potential or actual safety concerns.
- Collaborate with the anesthesia team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical education preferred.
- 1 year of directly related experience; bilingual skills in English and a Native American language preferred.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
This is a medium work position that requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and frequent use of 10-25 pounds of force. The position may require on-call duties and limited access to the medical room.
