Your Responsibilities:

As a Child Protective Services Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable children and families. Your efforts will contribute to the Child Welfare Vision for Transformation, aimed at ensuring safety, health, and well-being for children and young adults.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Ensuring the safety of children while providing support to families.
  • Engaging with various stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes for children and families through a trauma-informed approach.
  • Conducting assessments of alleged child abuse or neglect to evaluate risks.
  • Balancing the needs of children and families while fulfilling court obligations.
  • Performing interviews to assess the mental, physical, and social conditions of caregivers.
  • Analyzing information to determine appropriate placements for children based on unique family circumstances.
Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field, or;
  • A bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with relevant experience or coursework, or;
  • An associate degree with additional experience or training in Human Services.
Essential Skills:

We seek candidates who demonstrate:
  • Experience with trauma-informed practices sensitive to diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting complex information clearly.
  • Experience in conducting interviews with children and adults.
  • A background in providing social services and resources to families.
Working Conditions:
  • Work will be conducted both in the office and within the community.
  • Travel may be required for transporting children, including potential winter driving conditions.
  • Work hours may vary based on service needs, including possible overtime.
  • On-call duties will be part of the role.
  • Interactions with individuals who may have experienced trauma are expected.
