Job Title: Truck and Engine Repair Professional

\

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Truck and Engine Repair Professional to join our team at Xylem. The successful candidate will perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and servicing on Godwin fleet equipment.

\

Responsibilities:

\
  • \
  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and servicing as directed on Godwin fleet equipment\
  • Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems, and pump problems\
  • Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends\
  • Assist customer and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems on customer job sites as needed\
  • Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager\
  • Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality\
  • Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment\
  • Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology\
  • Participate in weekly on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours\
  • Perform related duties as assigned\
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities\

Requirements:

  • \
  • 3-5 years of diesel experience and/or training or combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position\
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record\
  • Ability to obtain DOT Medical card\
  • Commercial Driver License B - Preferred\
  • Diagnosing basic mechanical problems\
  • Thorough understanding of the methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance\
  • Basic understanding of pump station electrical controls and monitoring devices\
  • General DC electric and circuit testing skills\
  • General diesel engine component location and identification\
  • Safety practices and procedures\
  • Basic mechanical aptitude\
  • Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues - preferred\
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed\
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers both verbally and in writing\
