Conveyor Systems Maintenance Specialist

Position Summary: As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of conveyor systems during the second shift. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work schedule: Monday to Thursday, 4 PM to 2 AM.
- Flexibility to work overtime and adjust hours as necessary to complete maintenance tasks.
- Ability to maintain composure and a positive demeanor in high-pressure situations.
- Occasionally assist in other maintenance areas, including building upkeep and grounds maintenance.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in Conveyor Maintenance:
- In-depth knowledge of powered conveyor systems and related machinery.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and conducting diagnostic assessments on conveyor operations.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics is advantageous.
- Capable of following mechanical blueprints and parts lists.
- Document maintenance activities, including repairs and parts utilized, in the maintenance database.
- Identify and resolve conveyor jams and their underlying causes.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Familiarity with 120V and 24VDC circuits, as well as 120/480V motors.
- Experience in wiring 480V motors and associated components, such as brakes and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Welding and machining skills are a plus.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures is essential.
- Comfortable working at heights exceeding 30 feet.
- Understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE) and its applications.
- Physical ability to navigate multiple flights of stairs and maneuver around conveyor systems.
2. Preventative Maintenance Expertise:
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Skilled in identifying potential issues during maintenance checks and determining the urgency of repairs.
- Familiarity with Rapistan/Dematic and SDI conveyor systems is beneficial.
