About This Role:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse, providing professional nursing care in accordance with physician treatment plans to ensure patient comfort and well-being. You will assess patient needs, plan and implement treatment, observe progress, and document pertinent observations while working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary health team.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will collect patient health data by involving the patient, family, and other healthcare providers
- Perform initial assessment based on patient presentation
- Record relevant data on the nursing component of the Interdisciplinary Admission Assessment
- Demonstrate awareness of special needs for each age group or culture served
- Ongoing assessments are performed as established by department policy and as warranted by the patient's response
- Incorporate discharge planning into the admission process
- Analyze assessment data to determine problem identification and expected outcomes
- Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcome
- Collaborate with the patient, family, and healthcare providers to develop the plan of care
- Communicate expected outcomes to the patient, family, and healthcare providers
- Implement the plan of care and perform appropriate patient monitoring
- Provide education to the patient and family utilizing educational assessment
- Recognize hazards to patient safety and take action to maintain a safe environment
- Work collaboratively with other team members to implement interventions
- Assign or delegate tasks as defined by the state nurse practice act and according to caregiver knowledge and skills
- Demonstrate knowledge regarding drug administration, incompatibilities, contraindications, and adverse effects
- Evaluate patient progress toward attainment of outcomes
- Document patient response to interventions and revisions to the plan of care
- Identify barriers to achieving desired patient/family outcomes and utilize resources to diminish negative impact
- Communicate with and include the patient, family, and healthcare providers in the evaluation process
- Provide care demonstrating ethical beliefs and respect for patient rights
- Participate in activities that support customer satisfaction
- Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and other healthcare providers
