Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team at Professional Hospitality Resources, Inc. and Ocean Beach Club LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of banquet events, ensuring exceptional customer service and exceeding guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate all aspects of banquet events, including setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Manage and guide all pre-event, during, and post-event assignments, including opening tasks, table sections, buffet assignments, and closing assignments.
  • Act as the liaison between the event/group's contact and the banquet/catering operation to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and control banquet budgets, including labor costs, beverage costs, supplies, and equipment, to maximize revenue and minimize expenses.
  • Ensure that all department employees receive comprehensive training as specified by the operating business plan assumptions.
  • Prepare and forward schedules for the department to senior management for approval.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and enforce 100% staff compliance with uniform and grooming standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that all guest requests are satisfied in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Two to three years of experience in a related position, preferably as a property-level banquet captain.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Delphi systems and/or optimal settings.
  • Ability to make occasional decisions guided by established policy and procedures.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to receive development and supervisory training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a property-level banquet captain.
  • Exposure to scheduling, PO processing, time card calculations, and expense control systems.
  • Degree in a related area or equivalent of three years of experience in the field.
