Ideal candidates will possess a solid grasp of EHS principles and demonstrate adaptability for future roles in environmental and safety management as they arise. This role presents a remarkable opportunity to cultivate a career in EHS, emphasizing professional growth and advancement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the creation, execution, and oversight of environmental health and safety initiatives.
  • Support management and supervisors with training and compliance issues related to environment, health, and safety.
  • Ensure the effectiveness and regulatory compliance of these programs.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to assess compliance.
  • Deliver training on various environmental health and safety subjects.
  • Collaborate with departments to foster safe and environmentally compliant working conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Sound decision-making skills.
  • Understanding of environmental science principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude for developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Background in training or facilitation.
  • Familiarity with Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA) regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, physical science, chemistry, or a related environmental field.
  • Experience in environmental compliance within a manufacturing or consulting context, including permitting and compliance for Air, Water, & Waste.
  • Project management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety practices.
  • Knowledge of the National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) relevant to the Cement and Hazardous Waste Combustor Industries is advantageous.
  • Experience in the Cement Industry is a plus.
