Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to residents in post-acute facilities
  • Follow and adhere to resident care plans
  • Measure and monitor blood pressure and other vital signs, reporting to your supervisor as necessary
  • Observe the conditions of residents during your shift, reporting any concerns to the broader nursing team
  • Serve meals to residents and help with feeding as needed
  • Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, mobility, and toileting
  • Clean and sanitize surfaces, keep residents' rooms clean, change linens, and ensure a hygienic environment
  • Act as a conduit between medical staff and residents, and communicate with visitors
  • Move residents in and out of wheelchairs and beds, and reposition them as needed
  • Offer a compassionate ear to residents and provide valued companionship
Qualifications and Skills
  • Current Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and nursing care procedures
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Effective organizational skills and communication skills
  • Appropriate bedside manner
