Job Title: Van Driver

The Van Driver is a crucial role in the daily operations of the Child Development and Out of School Time Program at the YMCA of Greater Boston. This position is responsible for transporting children from school to the afterschool program, ensuring their safe and timely arrival.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport children from school to the afterschool program, maintaining a safe and comfortable environment during transit.
  • Communicate effectively with YMCA Site Coordinators/Directors and Program Administrators to facilitate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Maintain program attendance after driving duties are completed, ensuring accurate records and reporting.
  • Sign in/out program participants and greet families entering the Y facility, providing a welcoming and supportive environment.
Requirements:
  • Must have a good driving record, a 7D or school bus license to drive the YMCA van, and a valid Driver's License for at least three years.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal driving rules and regulations, as well as a commitment to the philosophy and goals of the YMCA.
  • Must possess effective leadership skills, crisis management skills, and excellent organizational skills.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications within the first six months of employment.
