Job Summary

Sigma Healthcare staffing is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract position. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' clinical conditions, recognizing and responding to serious situations, and prioritizing care accordingly.
  • Formulate nursing diagnoses and develop individualized care plans to meet patients' unique needs.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care, including medical, surgical, psychiatric, and obstetrical patients.
  • Initiate emergency measures when necessary, such as administering medications and using specialized equipment.
  • Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote health and wellness.
  • Assume oversight for patient care administered by licensed practical nurses and unlicensed personnel.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to other registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and unlicensed personnel.
Requirements
  • 2 years of ICU experience
  • Valid state RN licensure
  • CPR and ACLS certification
  • ANCC cardio certification (preferred)
  • Cardiac and post-cardiovascular surgical experience
  • Covid vaccine, including booster (for those eligible)
