Veterinary Animal Care Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Kennel Technician to join our team at Walkertown Veterinary Hospital. This is a full-time position that involves providing exceptional care and attention to animals in our hospital and boarding facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Care for patients by feeding, medicating, cleaning, and bathing them as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by restocking supplies, disinfecting equipment, and performing laundry duties.
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal restraint and exams.
- Keep accurate records of medications, special diets, and any issues that arise during an animal's stay.
- Perform moderately heavy physical labor, including lifting, carrying, and moving large dogs, pet foods, and other supplies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods, proper animal restraint techniques, and ability to use cleaning materials and equipment efficiently.
- Ability to sympathetically and patiently attend to sick, scared, and injured animals.
- Ability to learn to administer medications and recognize abnormal conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Benefits
- Average annual salary: $43,500 - $57,000 based on experience.
