Job Summary

The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Finishing Department, ensuring the efficient operation of production lines, and maintaining a safe working environment. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to develop and execute department goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the hourly workforce in the Finishing Department, including scheduling and productivity improvement.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control and cycle counts, and develop performance measurements and work schedules.
  • Provide training to direct reports in production, material handling, equipment, safety, and hazardous materials.
  • Sort and dispose of non-conforming materials according to established procedures.
  • Maintain the production area in good housekeeping order, adhering to OSHA guidelines.
  • Adhere to and promote all company safety rules and requirements.
  • Oversee the maintenance of chemical process tanks to achieve high-quality results.
  • Oversee the finishing process, including electro plating, antique finishes, and coating processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise the hourly workforce in the Finishing Department and be responsible for performance management and hiring.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop hourly workforce.
  • Provide mentoring and training for production, finishing, safety, quality, inventory control, etc.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1-2 years of experience in electro and oxide plating.
  • 1-2 years of experience in coating processes.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct production workflow in the finishing process.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Ability to execute math equations.
  • Proven experience in the finishing process (antique finishes, electro plating, coating).
  • Exposure to interacting with state and federal regulatory agencies.
Computer Skills
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Basic MS Excel (sorting and filtering data).
Language Skills
  • English (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Bilingual preferred – English and Spanish (reading, writing, verbal).
Mathematical Skills
  • Mathematical proficiency.
Other Skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to legally work without sponsorship for employment visa status.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses their hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer or telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. Must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds. Have ability to complete frequent lifting, standing, and walking up to 8 hours. May frequently use ladders, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment or enclosed office space; and will be exposed to a warehouse environment on a frequent basis. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
