ROLE SUMMARY

This position entails collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to oversee FDA approvals, evaluate pharmaceutical manufacturer pipelines, and analyze drug utilization metrics. Key responsibilities include formulating and executing the organization's Drug Formulary, drafting drug monographs for assessment, and executing management strategies such as prior authorization and dosage modifications. The role may also encompass reviewing utilization management requests, offering expert consultation, and engaging in educational programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee FDA approvals, pharmaceutical pipelines, and evaluate drug utilization reports
  • Assist in the creation of Drug Formularies and management strategies
  • Implement educational programs for healthcare providers, pharmacies, and members
  • Conduct clinical reviews and make decisions, including handling appeals
  • Engage in cross-functional committees for clinical and operational projects

QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatory

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of managed care principles
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Valid pharmacy license
  • Desirable
  • Knowledge of Medicare
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Skills
  • Capacity to identify and prioritize issues
  • Ability to devise solutions independently or collaboratively
  • Utilize logic and reasoning to identify solutions

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is an office-based role; occasional travel may be necessary.
