Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Department of Conservation as an Engineering Geologist - Field and Regulatory Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting complex field inspections and performing difficult geologic and engineering work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Perform geologic and engineering work to support the development of natural resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve regulatory compliance and field operations.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in geology, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a regulatory or field inspection capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of geologic and engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

This position is located in Bakersfield and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must reside in California and be able to satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely.
