Under the guidance of management, you will be responsible for developing and implementing process control programs that ensure the production of finished goods meets or surpasses customer-specified requirements. This role requires the ability to work effectively within a diverse workforce, acting as a change agent while employing preventative methodologies. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives by utilizing appropriate quality tools and conducting data analysis. Additionally, you will review design and process modifications for their impact on product performance, facilitate teams and meetings, provide training, and support the Quality/AS9100 Continuous Improvement efforts across the plant. You will also oversee customer complaints to identify necessary quality activities to resolve issues. As a resource and leader on quality-related matters, you will address process capability, SPC, PPAP, metrology, and customer/supplier interactions. Furthermore, you will guide suppliers towards effective corrective actions, monitor Supplier KPI performance, and conduct internal and supplier audits. A solid understanding of and experience with an AS9100 QMS is essential for this position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the operations team to fulfill all quality requirements.
  • Lead and manage a team of FAA DMIRs and receiving inspectors.
  • Coordinate supplier activities with the supply chain to ensure compliance with required specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that customer quality requirements are met for assigned products, programs, areas, and functions.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and engage in any/all of the following:
  1. APQP / Advanced Product Quality Planning
  2. PPAP / Production Part Approval Process
  3. 8D / Eight Discipline problem-solving
  4. SPC / Statistical Process Control
Lead the development of Control Plans and PFMEA.Promote a general understanding of AS9100 in daily operations.Assist in internal quality training initiatives.Participate in daily Gemba Walks as needed.Engage in Internal Audits.Support SQE in addressing supplier quality issues to meet the required quality standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and proven team-oriented problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Solid skills in blueprint reading, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), inspection layout, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with AS9100 auditing and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • PPAP experience is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, self-motivation, and collaborative team skills are crucial.
  • Effective training abilities are necessary.
  • Proficient computer skills are required.
  • Ability to interpret customer quality requirements with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of this role.
